After much dilly-dallying the CBI has filed the chargesheet in the Loop Telecom case. CBI has called Loop, the alter-ego or the second self of the Ruias. CBI has tracked the fraternal relations of Essar and Loop since 2005. Essar purchased BPL’s operations in Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mumbai, and resold the same excluding Mumbai to Hutchison Essar Ltd (HEL) at premium. It retained the Mumbai operation and operated in the name of Loop Telecom.
