Ever heard of a price hike safeguarding and preserving consumer interest! This inverted theory of consumer protection has been advanced by the telecom regulator Trai, while imposing a ten-fold hike on users for SMSes. On May 24, according to a Trai regulation, bulk SMS would be subjected to a ten fold hike, the burden of which will be borne by the consumers.
